This contest is now closed. The winner of this contest was
Breeleed.
Congratulations to her and stay tuned for future contests that will
be coming soon to this site.
This contest is to help me learn about the popularity of alternative postcards, with knitted postcards in mind.
To participate: simply answer the questions below honestly in the comment section. There are no right and wrong answers and the winner will be chosen randomly through a draw when the contest is over. Be sure to give me information so I can contact you: if I cannot contact you through your blog, then send me an email address so that I can deliver the prize.
The prize: the prize is a knitted post card of your choice, as well as a 'Gullbrød'. This is one of the most popular and traditional chocolate bars of Norway. It is actually a marsipan bar (Norwegian marsipan is *less* sweet than the marsipan found in Great Britain or German) dipped in dark chocolate. The prize can either be sent to you, or to a friend as a gift.
Deadline: October 3rd, 2008 at 9pm Norwegian time. (I do have to wait until my children have gone to sleep). :)
Questions to be answered: Under what circumstances would you buy a knitted/textile postcard? Have you purchased them in the past? Would you consider purchasing them in the future?
** A Reminder ** You will not be punished for giving a negative answer. This is a contest designed to gather information. :)
Good Luck to all those who participate!

Under what circumstances would you buy a knitted/textile postcard?
I would buy a knitted postcard for my grandmother. She gets a kick out of clever things. I definitely think she'd be surprised to receive a knitted postcard in the mail!
Have you purchased them in the past?
No; I've actually never heard of a knitted postcard before.
Would you consider purchasing them in the future?
Yes! I think it's a neat (and creative!) alternative to just a regular cardstock postcard.
I might get one for myself because I collect postcards when I can =D
Ive never seen them before!
I do think its very creative. Ive never sent anyone a postcard, so id only buy it for myself for my collection, so yes I could potentially get one

I've honestly never heard of a knitted postcard, but I think its a wonderful idea! And I'm glad I am aware of them now, it would make a cute gift! Or I'd get one for myself, it would be a cute decor.

I've never bought one. I'd probably only get one if I didn't have to send it in the mail. I'm not sure how much it would cost, but it probably wouldn't be worth it, the reciever would not appreciate it.
1) If I found one I really loved or if I needed to send someone a creative card and didn't have time to make one.
2) No.
3) Maybe. I usually send homemade postcards, but I'm still in university and I'll probably have less time to do that once I have a job.
Well. I'll probably buy them if it's suitable for someone i have in mind or if they really like handmade stuff. I haven't bought them in the past as i didn't know they existed till i saw yours!! I may consider buying in the future as it's a really cool idea! All the best with your sales!
Cheers,
Melody

I have nver heard of a knitted postcard before but as a mail artist i have heard of felt and or textured postcards
I think one would be great to buy to keep but also one to send for a mail art project and then perhaps it would travel the globe and end up in an exhibition somewhere for many to see
that would be cool
unique and creative and recycled the future is textile :)
also what a wonderful thing to send to a blind friend or someone with autism ect
somthing they can feel and interact with
:)

Questions to be answered: Under what circumstances would you buy a knitted/textile postcard?
for fun, for uniqueness, to send to someone who is bored with everything else, for the collector
Have you purchased them in the past?
I have purchased wooden postcards but not textiles
Would you consider purchasing them in the future?
yes, for fun and adding a different or sending a different item to that person who says they want nothing, they have everything
I doubt I would, I'm much more likely to send an e-mail than a postcard LOL. My girls enjoy getting postcards from places we've been or places their grandparents go & send them postcards back, so if we found one that was meaningful in terms of somewhere we'd been, I might get one for each of my kids.
Under what circumstances would you buy a knitted/textile postcard?
I've never heard of them before this! I would buy one for my crafty friends, or my grandmother who enjoys knitting - It's definitely a specific taste though.
Have you purchased them in the past?
No, this is the first time I've heard of/seen one.
Would you consider purchasing them in the future?
Only if the right occasion came up - I think they might make a nice Christmas present for those crafty friends I mentioned earlier.
Thank you!!

1. I would buy a knitted postcard for a special occasion such as a birthday. They would make a lovely alternative to a birthday card.
2. I've never bought one before because this is the first time I've heard of them.
3. Yes I would buy them in the future as long as I liked the card design and it suited the occasion I wanted to use it for.

I think that special postcards like yours are great for special events like weddings anniversarys and new babies. They are great for a keepsake to remember the special times. No, i havent purchased in the past but definetly would in the future:)

Under what circumstances would you buy a knitted/textile postcard? >>> Under the same circumstances I would purchase the usual ones, either if they're for people with an eco-kind of thinking or not. Spreading the word is what matters.
Have you purchased them in the past? - No, unfortunately.
Would you consider purchasing them in the future? - Absolutely.

I have a couple of crocheting/knitting friends who would get a kick out of a knitted/textile card.
I've never purchased them before because I've never seen one before.
Would I consider it? Absolutely, especially if something about it tickled me.
What a fun idea!
I would buy one, for no particular reason, other than it appealed to me. I've never seen any before, so of course haven't purchased one. (I have seen fabric postcards discussed online.) I think knitted postcards sound like fun. :-)
Under what circumstances would you buy a knitted/textile postcard?
Have you purchased them in the past? Never.
Would you consider purchasing them in the future? Yes.
If it was humorous and I could use it as a washcloth.

Before this post I'd never heard of a knitted postcard. What a novel, funky idea! I love the texture, it's like so cozy-looking, like a hug.
I would definitely consider purchasing one of these postcards, particularly for a friend who might be going trough a tough time. Of the designs you have at your shop, I'm most attracted to the ones with sayings sewn in. I'm more likely to gravitate towards sayings I find humorous.
Great, original product you have here.
