Norwegian Fall Foliage

It has always amazed me that so many flowers and colors come a live in autumn in Norway, when the days are growing darker and darker by almost 10 minutes a day. The sun falls lower and lower in the sky. There's a constant chill in the air.

And still.... flowers open up and bow down to the light.

This is Lyng, or Heather. It is the national flower of Norway. Here it is blooming in a light lilac color.

Here you would think that it was the month of May.... not the end of September.

Here is ivy that I know was cut way back last spring.

And finally rosehips..... you always got to love the colors of these!
